The Staff ‘We treat your pet as if it was our own’

Clive Munns BVSc CertZooMed CertGP(SAM) MRCVS

Although born in Surrey, Clive grew up and studied in South Africa. He qualified from University of Pretoria and returned to England in 2002. Since then, he has been in practice in the UK, mainly in Kent. Clive gained a further qualification in small animal medicine (CertGP(SAM)) in 2007. Clive has a special interest in dog and cat medicine as well as a great interest in exotic and wild species and gained his Certificate of Zoological and Exotic Medicine (CertZooMed) in 2011.


Jane Hopper MA VetMB CertZooMed MRCVS

Jane was born in Canterbury and qualified from Cambridge University in 2002. After spending 4 years in private practice, she made the move to full time zoo work. Jane now works full time as a zoo vet. So, although Jane is a partner in the practice, and married to Clive, she spends her days at the zoo! You will see Jane in the practice from time to time.

Clive and Jane have two cats, Mowlgi and Ebony. Mowgli writes a monthly column detailing all his exploits each month. A lot of these exploits invlove Clive and Jane's badly behaved goats, Merlin and Dennis. They also have a tortoise called Louis.

Leah Dale RVN, Head Veterinary Nurse

Leah has been involved with veterinary work since 2003. She qualified as a veterinay nurse in Folkestone in 2006 and has been with the Clinic cince it opened. She has 1 gorgeous cat called Miffy. Leah has a special interest in nursing exotic animals, and is often seen bathing a tortoise or feeding a parrot! Leah runs our nurses clinics and is studying pet nutrition.

 


Chris Basu BVetMed MRCVS

Chris is the new vet at the Clinic and will be working full time. Chris qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London. After a few years in general practice and just before joining us Chris completed an Internship at Edinburgh Vet School. Chris and Clive have worked together before and were keen to work together again! Chris has 2 very naughty Bengal cats that misbehave almost as much as Mowgli!.

Rosemary Munns, Receptionist/Bookeeper

Rosemary is new to the Veterinanry world, but has extensive pet experience. Rosemary has recently returned to the UK from South Africa, where she spent 24 years with a large menagerie of pets from pigs, sheep and horses to dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. At the moment she has 3 dogs, 2 cats and an Indian Mynah bird, all of which have been brought over from South Africa.



Andy Hopper, Receptionist/ Handyman

 Andy is Jane's dad and has recently retired as a Chartered Surveyor where he did everything from selling cattle to surveying houses. He has always been an animal lover, and over the years must have taken Jane to practically every zoo in the country. He assisted behind the scenes when the practice was set up, and now welcomes the chance to become more involved as part time receptionist and general handyman. His Siamese cat, Cleo is  inquisitive about him meeting other pets.

Lucy Toombs RVN, Veterinary Nurse

Lucy qualified as a veterinary nurse in July 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College/Middlesex University. Lucy has two dogs, Tim the Border Collie and Ozzy the German Shepherd so there is never a dull moment in her household! She has a keen interest in exotic animals and loves to cook (particularly deserts and cakes) much to everyone’s delight! Lucy will be working along side Leah in conducting nursing clinics and puppy parties. 


Clive and Jane are also on the committee of Worldwide Veterinary Services (www.wvs.org.uk), which is a charity that sends vets, nurses and equipment to places that need it all over the world. Clive has recently got back from a mission in Kenya but they have also been to Indonesia, India and many other places.
